Rogue Valley Times: Latest Asante cuts leave patients, employees facing more uncertainty

Aug. 1, 2026 - A growing list of changes to Asante-run facilities in Southern Oregon will affect outpatient rehabilitation and physical, occupational and speech therapy for patients recovering from injuries, surgeries, neurological conditions and chronic illnesses, according to employee interviews conducted by the Rogue Valley Times.

KDRV12: Asante ordered to bargain with Rogue Regional workers after 3-year fight

Jun. 4, 2026 - The National Labor Relations Board ordered Asante executives to recognize and bargain a contract with healthcare workers at Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center on June 3.

The order comes nearly three years after more than 250 healthcare technical workers at Rogue Regional voted to join the Oregon Nurses Association on June 9, 2023. According to the union, workers cited a need for safe staffing, affordable healthcare, fair pay and benefits, and a voice in local healthcare decisions.
