KOBI5: Trust important in Asante; Nurses Union contract talks

Jul. 1, 2026 - Fred Katz, a longtime Asante RRMC nurse, says nurses understand why Asante is financially forward-focused, but at the same time he also remembers how nurses only took a small cost-of-living increase before the Affordable Care Act kicked in because of economic uncertainty.

KOBI5: Asante, RRMC Nurses Union prepare for contract negotiations

Jun. 30, 2026 - The current 3-year contract for more than 1,200 registered nurses at RRMC ends September 30th, but they can begin discussions on a new contract on July 1st.  But the two have differing opinions on Asante’s financial health.

Jan. 9, 2026 - The Oregon Nurses Association claims that Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center’s new staffing policy is leaving hospital units short-staffed, putting patients at risk and breaking Oregon law.
